Old Town Porto, Portugal views

Porto offers some incredible ways to see views of the city whether that's just walking the hills, climbing church towers or finding a place to plop down and gaze around.

One day we headed out when it was quite stormy looking making our way to the Porto Cathedral where we found cover when a pretty strong brief rainstorm blew through.

When the rain slowed we paid 3 euros and went inside. The construction of the Cathedral began during the twelfth century, but it was rebuilt and renovated numerous times throughout the centuries. This explains why it's is a mix of architectural styles. It has beautiful tile and arches and while we wandered the sun and blue sky began to come back out.

Then we climbed up one of the towers for some incredible views and watched the last of the clouds blow out to reveal bright blue sky. It felt like an entirely different day!

A different day we came back to meander through the narrow streets that surround this area looking for various miradouros (viewspoints) that we noticed on Google maps.

I love walking these streets later in the evening when the lighting begins to change.
