Beautiful Places in Central Vancouver Island

We haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time in this part of the island yet, but we did experience these cool things that are well worth visiting.

Little Qualicum Falls Park

Ladysmith

We stopped here to grab some scrumptious enormous cinnamon rolls and turkey/cranberry sandwiches at Old Town Bakery. The town was cute and we hope to return to wander a bit more!

Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park

This beautiful park straddles the Little Qualicum River and has a number of great trails, camping and swimming opportunities at Cameron Lake. We were headed to Tofino and stopped here to take a little break, eat our goodies and hike this short trail. It was under a mile and just stunning.

Elk Falls Provincial Park

This is another great park that seemed to be very popular for campers & hikers. We were coming through the area from Telegraph Cove and decided to stop to hike to the 89 foot ROARING waterfall (they did post it was unusual high water) and walk across the super cool suspension bridge. It was really a fantastic for little effort as the hike was only a mile long.

Campbell River

We stopped in for some lunch, and great beer, at Session Taproom + Kitchen which had outside seating and was across from the water which was fun area to walk. This town is a major hub for outdoor adventure and we know we'll be back here for sure.
